Mid Summer Nights Dream

Once upon a time, in a place called Athens, there was a Duke named Theseus who was getting married to a lady called Hippolyta. They were super excited about the wedding, but that’s not what this story is about. This story is about what happened in the woods one night.

There were these four kids—Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius. Hermia loves Lysander, but her dad wanted her to marry Demetrius. Hermia was like, “No way, Dad!” So, she and Lysander decided to run away into the woods. But then Helena, who liked Demetrius (even though he didn’t like her back), told Demetrius about their plan, and they all ended up in the woods together.

Meanwhile, in the woods, there were fairies. The king of the fairies, Oberon, was having a fight with the queen, Titania, because she wouldn’t give him a boy she was taking care of. So, Oberon told his helper, Puck, to find a magic flower. When you put its juice on someone’s eyes while they’re sleeping, they fall in love with the first thing they see when they wake up. Oberon wanted to use it on Titania to make her fall in love with something silly.

Puck found the flower and put the juice on Titania’s eyes. Then he saw Lysander sleeping and thought he was Demetrius, so he put the juice on his eyes too. When Lysander woke up, he saw Helena and fell in love with her. Helena was super confused because she thought Lysander loved Hermia.

Now, everything was messed up. Hermia was sad because Lysander didn’t love her anymore, and Helena thought everyone was making fun of her. Puck tried to fix it by putting the juice on Demetrius’s eyes, so now he loved Helena too. But now both boys loved Helena, and Hermia was really upset.

In the middle of all this, Titania woke up and saw a guy named Bottom who had a donkey’s head (because Puck turned him into one for fun). She fell in love with him, and it was super funny.

Finally, Oberon felt bad for all the mess, so he told Puck to fix everything. Puck made everyone go to sleep, then put the juice on Lysander’s eyes again to make him love Hermia. Titania also went back to normal, and she and Oberon made up. In the morning, everyone woke up, and they thought the whole thing was just a weird dream.

So, Theseus found the four kids in the woods and told them to get married. They all went back to Athens, and everyone got married and lived happily ever after.
